Dresden has risen from the ashes in every way. The wide river Elbe runs majestically through Dresden and now lining its banks are beautifully restored buildings; the Frauenkirche, the Schloss with the marvels of the Green Vaults and the magical Zwinger. Dresden’s art collections are outstanding from the European Old Masters to German Romantic painters, housed in spacious galleries.
